Making The Table is a celebration of vegetarian cooking as a practice of love. Whether you’re vegan or vegetarian-curious, you’ll find 104 tasty recipes on these pages, plus tips for successful vegan cooking, and stories about what cooking can teach us about building community, growing as people, and bringing forth a liberated future.

100% vegetarian, the delicious recipes in this book include main dishes, salads, soups, sauces, savory baked goods, and desserts. Most recipes are vegan-friendly, and many are gluten- and nut-free. The book also includes a dozen recipes from Bread Uprising, an anti-capitalist bakery cooperative that existed in Durham, NC from 2009-2015.

The recipes here encourage you to cook with the cycles of the seasons, honor the ancestors who make us and the foods we eat possible, and share comfort food with community. These recipes are the fruits of Noah Rubin-Blose’s work cooking in community for over a decade as a chef, baker, community organizer, and Jewish spiritual leader.
